Humans can’t live in solitude and absolute independence without social contact with others, the idea is extended by the Grecian Sage Aristotle first that “Man is by nature a social animal. The notion is further cemented by many philosophers and stressed the need for a nation-state. Like-minded people having the same interests and motives defined a specific territory as their identity. The notion of nation-state first came into existence at the peace of Westphalia in 1648, by defining itself that a territorial piece having some population, independent of any kind of internal as well external pressure ruled by a government.
The so-called slogan of
‘White Men’s Burden’ ceased after WWII and led to the establishment of numerous
organizations for different purposes like defense, trade, and peace. These
organizations were loaded with great responsibilities to maintain peace and
stability in particular and defense in general across the globe irrespective of
nation, caste, color, and religion.

The genocide in
Myanmar, abnegation of fundamental human rights in Kashmir, extreme poverty,
and illiteracy in the world supported my unflinching faith that all International Organizations Including
the UN Failed to Resolve the Grave Issues of the World. They were created
to eradicate social evils, reduce poverty, alleviate hunger and ensure an equal
and friendly economic environment for all the states of the world.
Among the most
well-known and deadly examples of ethnic cleansing from the late twentieth and
early twenty-first centuries are the Chechnya, Iraq, Balkans, Sri Lanka,
Rwanda, India, Darfur, and Indonesia, as well as Israel, the West Bank, and the
Gaza Strip. The biased and prejudicial decisions made the affected states more
vulnerable to feuds and clashes. The lip service is not enough to resolve the
darkest issues rather IOs should come forward with a constructive approach. The
UN has been worthless in recent years due to the Security Council's structure,
the lack of `engagement in critical global events, and a disparity in
objectives among its participants.
Turn a deaf ear towards
the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul, 145 days of the
shutdown of internet services in Kashmir, refugee conflicts in Syria, and
brutal attacks of Israeli air forces in Ghaza Strip are the pieces of evidence
that prove the failure of IOs. It can’t be denied that the death rates due to
wars declined, but few recommendations can trigger the IOs to work more
effectively.
Firstly, these
organizations should be independent in terms of finance. It is possible to
attain this by carefully planning and investing. Unbiased decisions can be made
when there is financial freedom. America and other competitive juggernauts
heavily influence the decisions and make it a controversial organization.
Last but least,
following the list of unsuccessful missions, reforms at the UN are required to
increase the efficacy as a multilateral organization, increase transparency,
and boost confidence. It is a need of time to make the world safer and happier
than before.
Here are some points where UN implicitly seems unsuccessful.
Global Warming or
Climate Change
Despite the IPCC's
worldwide scientific organization and the climate treaty's 165 signed
governments, global greenhouse gas emissions have continued to rise.
Even if every nation
fulfils its greenhouse gas emission objectives, we are still on course for
"dangerous warming," according to the Paris Agreement. Despite the
fact that no major nation is on course to fulfill its commitments this year as
a result of COVID-19, atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases will
continue to rise.
Apart from this, the
West continues to control UN entities such as the IMF and the World Bank. China
has responded by establishing possible alternative organizations like the Asian
Infrastructure Investment Bank.
The UN's credibility is
harmed by Western dominance. However, a more basic issue is that 1945-era
institutions are ill-suited to today's systemic global concerns, the most
pressing of which is climate change.
