In Pakistan, the leading causes of
Child Labor are social inequality, lack of education, and poverty. According to
UNICEF’s report, children from the rural areas of the world have no available
alternatives such as teachers and schools and their parents have no such resources
to support their educations
The majority of rural sectors have lack school facilities
and the availability of schools. The low-paying economy of the sector and easy
hire employee and child Labor is most on the peak in these countries. Besides
the Agricultural sector, child Labor exists in retail works, and also in trade
sectors.
Factors that include child labor are the economy,
inflexibility of the market, and lack of modern technologies. Children are
employed due to loans and debts made by their parents. Children are forced to
employ their families in brick kilns, stone and quarries, and agricultural
sectors. Child Laborers are usually subjected to physical, emotional, mental,
and sexual abuse, even leading to death. we saw this in our every day many children’s
was forced rap even by their family member they torture them both physically
and mentally and after all, this when one of them raise their voice they were
killed and majority of families are not even register a case against them
because they were too afraid to answer and even pay the court fees
Lack of implementation of Laws
The Child Labor (employment of Children Act) Act, 1991, was the
only enacted provision by the Pakistan Constitution against Child Labor
- Any
person who employs a child below 14 or a child between 14 and 18 in a
hazardous occupation or process can be punished with jail time of between
six months and two years and/or a fine between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 50,000
- The most sweeping federal law that restricts the employment and abuse of a child workers is the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). ... FLSA restricts the hours that youth under 16 years of age can work and lists hazardous occupations too dangerous for young workers to perform.
Unfortunately, these laws and regulations lack active and proper
implementation and enforcement in our country.
