Umm-e-Rumman Syed D/o of Dr. Syed Shahid Rasool has recently graduated from the National University of Modern Languages by completing her Bs in English Literature and Linguistics with a 3.59 CGPA out of 4.0. She is a published poetess and her poetry collection is named as, ‘Beautiful Inadequacies’ along with this she is a co-author of an anthology, ‘Eccentric Humans’.
Rumman has more than a year of writing experience, as she has interned as a content writer and blog writer in a number of companies. She has been the head coordinator of the Social Responsibility Society of NUML and part of a content writing team for MUN-NUML and Poetry Brigade, NUML. Apart from her professional and academic contribution, she has participated in several philanthropist activities by serving as a volunteer teacher at a welfare school and participating in a food drive.
She was the winner of Poetic Symposium (English Category) at National Literary Festival 2020, NUST. She has won many poetry competitions. She has been awarded PM laptop in 2018 due to her outstanding academic achievement. She has also organized and attended a counselling session on, ‘Battling Anxiety and Depression During Pandemic’ arranged by Social Responsibility Committee, NUML.
Rumman’s love for books compelled her to make her passion, her profession. An intrusive and sensitive soul, she looks at the world in different hues. Her perceptive flair and profound philosophical outlook on life are aptly seen in her poetry as well. She is working with the team of School of Literature as a content writer.
