What is WELL-BEING?

According to Psychology Today, Personal Well-being is the experience of health, happiness, and prosperity. Generally, it means to feel good about yourself and your life. Personal Well-being is a unique combination of one's physical, emotional, mental, psychological, and spiritual health. The quality of our life influences our well-being.  Many aspects of life are directly linked to our well-being.  The sense of satisfaction and happiness you feel in life is deeply connected to one's Personal Well-being.

International studies and research have shown that many factors can influence personal well-being in life. Is it humanly possible to change one's state of happiness and satisfaction?  According to various researchers, it is indeed possible to improve the quality of our life which can directly impact personal wellbeing.  Enhancing Personal Well-being is not easy as developing new habits that positively impact our general well-being can take weeks to months as the key is consistency.


An Australian consumer study showed that 58 percent of people wished that they could improve their health and general well-being. In Pakistan, many young individuals are grappling with depression and have negative views about their job, income, relationships, and life generally.


The important concern is how can well-being and a sense of happiness be increased and made achievable.


Personal Well-being and happiness are certainly possible. When we focus on important factors of our life that need improvement, we can enhance our state of satisfaction.  Well-being is elusive and can be different for many people.


Building and maintaining a strong and valuable relationship with family and friends can increase your happiness. Asking for help from a counselor or doctor in the absence of healthy family ties can help as well. Taking care of one's nutrition, regular exercise, and incorporating enjoyable hobbies or rituals daily, self-care can certainly increase the sense of well-being and energy in life. 


Therefore, Personal Well-being is an important and globally relevant dimension in today's society because one's sense of joy, happiness, and general well-being influences the quality of life and sustainability for future satisfaction.
