The chaos that once thought has started to settle down has once again surfaced with the emergence of the new variant. The Delta variant, first identified in India is now spreading rapidly worldwide and prompted new restrictions around the world. It is the most aggressive and transmission form of COVID-19. From being the most contagious to likely more severe, the rise of the delta variant is chanting people to wear a mask and maintain social distance even if they’re fully vaccinated.

The contagious one:

The one that is making highlights by being contagious and eventually evading the protection of your “jab” is reaching heights for all the right reasons. The rise of delta variants is a concern for the ones who are not practicing preventative measures. The “fastest and fittest” version as stated by WHO (World Health Organization) is a variant of concern. Hence, it is necessary to slow down the transmission of the new variant by following preventative measures.

The transmission rate of delta variant:

The B.1.617.2 variant and a SARS-CoV-2 mutation, delta has quite a dramatic growth rate. According to World Health Organization (WHO), the Delta variant will soon be the dominant coronavirus variant globally. With the different sets of symptoms from the Alpha variant of COVID-19, there have been reports that cough and loss of smell are less common among the patients of the delta variant. On contrary, the headache, mucus dripping out of your nose, and fever are among the common symptoms.

COVID-19 vaccine:

The un-vaccinated ones are at high risk as delta variant does lead to hospitalization and death. The vaccine of COVID-19 is indeed the best protection against the delta variant. To save yourself from the risk of getting ill, it is necessary to get the two-dose vaccine and follow the CDC prevention guideline for vaccinated and unvaccinated people. The vaccine prevents more than 90% of serve diseases as they are designed to give a high degree of protection.

The vaccine acts as a coping mechanism that can help us to save ourselves and the people around us from getting infected. COVID-19 with its variants can last on the surface with us for some unidentified time. With the help of collective efforts and ensure the practice of maintaining social distancing and wearing face masks it may not pose the same threat eventually.
