He
wrote a collection of short stories for which he awarded many prestigious
international awards, including The Giller Prize, the Commonwealth Writers
Prize for Best Book, the Governor General’s Award, the Canada-Australia
Literary Prize, the SmithBooks/Books in Canada First Novel Award, the Los
Angeles Times Book Prize for Fiction, The Royal Society of Literature’s
Winifred Holtby Award, and the Kiriyama Pacific Rim Book Prize for Fiction.
He advocates for the INDEPENDENCE of WOMEN.

Summary
The swimming lesson is taken from the Tales from Firoz Shah Baag. The tales from Firoz shah Baag is the stories of the lifestyle of the inhabitant living in the apartment named Firoz Shah Baag.
The
story is spinning around a hero named kersi, who went to Toronto for a job. His
family was living in the Firoz shah Baag complex. He used to write letters to
them for describing his life story in Toronto. At the very first instant, he
wrote a letter that reciting his current situation at the Don Mills summer
complex of Toronto. He went to a local school for taking swimming lessons.
Initially, he was discussing the scenario of an old man, who was sitting in a
lobby and waiting for people to talk to them. For such reason, the old man
started asking inappropriate questions, such as he was asking the pedestrian
people to tell him his age. He was doing it to grab the attention of people. At
that moment kersi was missing his grandpa, who was having Parkinson’s disease,
did the same at their housing complex in Firoz Shah Baag.
Secondly,
he discussed two Portuguese women. They were looking very pretty while they
were taking a sunbath, but then he went closer and closer to them their charmer
was getting paler and paler. He was connecting the situation with the case when
he was taking a swimming lesson and his instructor was a beautiful young lady.
So he started imaging that the young lady will grip him to give him guidance
about swimming at the pool.
Moreover, in Bombay, his parents were enjoying his interesting stories. His parents were feeling very proud of his son’s stories. In the beginning, his father was thinking that he was just wasting his time by focusing on irrelevant people, but in the end, he realized that his son’s stories are amazing. His mother was also appreciating him for his interesting stories regarding Bombay.
Conclusion
In conclusion, it can be found that kersi was comparing the environment of his compartment in the Firoz shah Baag housing complex with Toronto’s surroundings. So he deliberated similarities and modifications experienced by him in both areas. His family was also praising him for his success and they were waiting for his young writer to write his next attractive book.
