Concept of Rehab
Rehabs are a need of
modern society. Many societies around the world are advanced and they prefer to
treat different types of disease through rehabilitation. Rehabilitation is
actually helping a person who had recently suffered a stroke or chronic illness.
The population of the world is increasing and the need for rehab centers is
also increasing. People who are above the age of 50 or 60 need rehabilitation.
They need help from the government. Rehabs are of different types but the most
important is drug rehabilitation.
Drug addiction in American and Pakistan:
If we look at the most developed state America, it also has people who are suffering severely from drug addiction. Some reports had shown that the deaths due to drug overdose in America have doubled from 1990 .21 million Americans have been drug addicts and just 10 percent receives treatment. The estimated figure showed that about 30 Americans die daily due to alcohol-related accidents. Age 18 to 25 are mostly drug addicts in America.
A report in 2013 by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes estimated that 6.7 million people are taking drugs in Pakistan. The government of Pakistan is working affectionately for drug addicts. Anti-Narcotic Force is a department working for smuggling tracking in Pakistan.
Treatment of drug
addiction:
Youngsters around the world fall prey victim to drug addiction. Psychological treatment in this regard is very important. After the treatment of drugs, the brain will not work normally so it is highly a chance that the individual who was the drug addict, will try to get back his past life. So the support of a psychiatrist is very necessary who will help out the individual from the world of darkness. Many different drug centers offer mental counseling, residential treatment, local support groups, and sober houses. The treatment involving drug detoxification is not only necessary but also counseling is an important part of treatment.
Role of Society:
Societies consider talking about drugs as a taboo
subject. Many people who could have been the shining stars of society are
wasted just because society is not ready to accept that drug addiction is like
a disease, which can be cured with help. Medicines do not help a person unless
his family supports him. Behavioral therapy after the treatment of drug
addiction is very necessary. Not only the doctor is important but also the
family is important in case of drug addictions. They must keep an eye on the
patient after recovery that he should not meet the people who are a drug
addict. His company of friends should be noticed from time to time.
Education institutes
should also play a role in the prevention of drug addiction among youngsters.
The drug dealers trap the youth because they are an easy target. Broken family
issues, physical and mental abuse among the youth lead them towards a world
where they can live the life they want. Teachers should support their students.
Educational institutes must have laws to prevent drug cases in societies.
Rehab centers are an important need of society and the government should work on rehabilitation centers because a healthy nation can only progress in the future.
